Packaging, Labeling, Transport, Shipment, and Receipt of Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods requirements for training. Please note as of March 3, 2008 all Hazardous Materials shipments, including packages containing dry ice, must be reviewed and offered to the carrier by Central Receiving personnel. Effective with this date, individual carriers will no longer pick-up packages containing hazardous materials. Should you have questions or need clarification of this change in service, please contact Doug Cuellar @ 335-0177 or Brady Allen @ 335-4529. To schedule same day pick-up of packages that qualify, call 335-5575 or 335-0177 by 1:00 p.m. Addition: Doug Cuellar will be avialable for "lesser" training so each department can have someone trained for just their needs. Contact Doug for further information.
Radio Requirements:
Per the findings for the Emergency Management Committee coinsiding with FCC requirements, FSR/GMRS radios are determined not legal for our business purposes. Full Policy here. MURS radios are legal, but not necessarily appropriate in heavily populated areas where the public line can be interferred with by constuction workers, etc. Some alternative recommndations are attached to the memo and other alternatives can be found with Grainger in the form of DTR550 Day-wireless radios.
EH&S Statewide has developed Heat Stress, Tractor Safety, and Respiratory Protection Power Point Web-based training courses. WSU employees can take these courses at anytime by accessing the following website and clicking on training button and then the appropriate course.
